I recently travelled back down to Playa Blanca and spent a couple of days on the beach and in the mountains. 

Playa Blanca has been bragging about it’s unique attraction which will be the 17 acre swimming pool.  Phase I of the construction has been completed and the swimming pool or lake is about to open.  It was filled with water a couple of weeks ago, and the crews have been continuing to work on this phase to open it by the end of January.

Railings have been installed and access points have been enhanced to look like beach entrances.  I do believe that there will be small boats permitted in the pool.  But time will tell. 

One person who is looking forward to its opening is my father, who loves to swim hundreds of strokes.  The Pacific Ocean is too dangerous for swimming most of the time, due to rip tides and the extreme high and low tides.  This pool will make the entire resort of Playa Blanca, a highly desirable vacation destination.
